Never forget that writing is as close as we get to keeping a hold on the thousand and one things — childhood, certainties, cities, doubts, dreams, instants, phrases, parents, loves — that go on slipping, like sand, through our fingers. - Salmun Rushdie
Facts/Feeling First
Writing subjectively is generally more interesting and therapeutic.
Writing objectively can be more time-efficient and can afford you some distance and perspective.
You might want to write your entry objectively first then add thoughts and feelings if/when you have the time and headspace for it.
Or, you can write your feelings first and add facts later that help to explain why you’re experiencing these feelings.
Understanding and getting some practice with writing objectively and subjectively can help to keep you from over-thinking what you’re writing and might help you to record your experiences more efficiently.
