Frustrated by his inability to remember what he did during previous weeks, months and years, John Casey decided to try keeping a journal. Having made many failed attempts in the past to write entries with any consistency, he decided to create some simple strategies that would allow him to sustain the practice. John has used these strategies to create entries for every day since he first started journaling in January of 2014. He found that what started as an experiment in record-keeping became a centering activity that helps with organization and allows for daily moments of reflection that honor the challenges and gifts of each day.
Realizing that many people shared his interest in journaling but had difficulty in doing it with any regularity, he decided to create The Sustainable Journaling Project so that he could share what he’d learned about this simple yet beneficial, centuries-old practice.
John has a BFA in Painting, enjoys drawing and painting and working as a barber in Brooklyn, NY.
